Senior Windows Interface Architect and Consultant

delivery system. Development tools include OLE 2.0, Internet Protocols
(WWW via HTTP), Windows Sockets, Visual C++, MFC 2.0-3.0, the
Adobe Acrobat viewer (via OLE automation), and Verity's Development
Kit as a search engine. Application uses the World Wide Web and
CD ROM as PDF document repositories. HTTP protocols are used as
the transport mechanism. Responsible for internal code architecture,
user interface design, human factors analysis, and implementation.

Developed Verity's new flagship product, TOPIC Agents. TOPIC

information retrieval engine. The user-interface is designed for
high visual impact, simplicity, and personal customization. I
am a principal software designer and developer of the user-interface
components. The product was developed using MFC, and Visual C++.
Implemented early phases of OLE functionality, including OLE
Custom Controls, and OLE Automation.

Architected, designed and implemented a C++ application framework
specifically for the automobile repair industry. Designed and
implemented classes for program events, serial communication,
and visual objects (listboxes, bitmap buttons, 3-D animated controls).
Included development of highly specialized custom controls, resource
editor, and fourth generation language development.

Software Development Manager and Consulting Software Designer
Successfully managed Express Publisher for Windows (desktop
publishing package), one of Power Up's strategic products. Managed
a seven member team consisting of three programmers, and four
testers. Successfully managed the German, French, Spanish and
Italian versions of Express Publisher for Windows. Worked with
four different overseas translation agencies, two programmers,
and two testers. Shipped the localized versions three months after
domestic version.

Consultant
Wrote a suite of software to automatically test tape drives,
hard-disk drives, and color monitors. Software was written in
C/C++. Designed user-interface, wrote the code, tested and verified
product integrity. Wrote a suite of UNIX utilities for handling
communications between a main server and client applications.
The utilities handled address and account information entry and
retrieval for a small 20 person business.
- Kaiser Electronics, San Jose, CA (April 1989 - May 1990)
Software Engineer
Coded in C, Pascal, and assembler for military cockpit display
systems. My code interacted with low-level firmware sub-systems
that controlled video and raster functions on a Head-Up Display
and a Head-Down Display. Wrote assembly code for mission critical
serial communication.

Software Intern
Developed automated test scripts and other quality assurance
tools for Tektronix's first generation of color PostScript printers
(the Phaser product line). Developed programs for DOS using the
C programming language.
